Developing leaders is important to the future success of Fort Myers. With 12 years of proven success, Greater Fort Myers Leadership continues to encourage, cultivate and recruit emerging leaders to better serve the Fort Myers area.
Greater Fort Myers Leadership is a program designed to connect and engage community leaders examining the challenges and opportunities that will shape our future.
The class, which meets weekly and is comprised of regional professionals, covers topics such as economic development, government, health care, education, environment, community service, media, and the tourism industry. Additionally, participants will challenge themselves, focus on team building, and learn skills necessary to be a successful leader in today's business world.
Reflecting on the program, Bill Turner, Vice President of Commercial Lending at Florida Gulf Bank and Chairperson for Greater Fort Myers Leadership said, "The Greater Fort Myers Leadership Program provided me with the opportunity to become involved in our community at a much higher, more effective level. Through the program’s access to political, economic and other community leaders, I was able to develop a basis of networking that has allowed me to make a greater difference in Southwest Florida. Whether it be through community service, Board involvement, political activism or business networking, the Greater Fort Myers Leadership Program gave me the foundation to be an effective community leader."
